Trash Calls for Action! |
||
Rae Hinch You may recall, last October Board members Joy Bolger and Rae Hinch represented NNAS at the Northern Neck Regional Litter Summit in Warsaw. The summit, organized by the Northern Neck Planning District Commission (NNPDC) in partnership with the Northern Neck Soil and Water Conservation District, brought together community groups and government representatives to address the growing litter problem in our region and discuss ways to alleviate it. Now, Rae Hinch reports on the action taken by NNAS. After a survey of our members, NNAS has volunteered to maintain a section of route 200 north, from the Kilmarnock town line, (route 608), to Goodluck Road, (route 607.) Check out the sign going north, just past the arts building. This 2 mile stretch will require a cleanup in late October, and thereafter once every 3 months. This is a high visibility section of the road, running past the Northumberland transfer station, Dithchley Road, and up the hill to the old Womens Club quanset hut building at Goodluck. I look forward to a good turnout of our members to make this
an easy day out.
