We had a wonderful turnout
for the morning bird walk at Belle Isle State Park on
October 8, 2007. Members and guests from a one year old to
a sprightly octogenarian joined in. Common names of species
identified, either visual or auditory were:

Great Blue Heron
Laughing Gull
Northern Flicker
Pileated Woodpecker
Canada Geese in formation
Belted Kingfisher
Bald Eagles, several; pair
bonding observed
