Hickory Hollow Trails Reopen
 

Thanks to the efforts of Northern Neck Audubon volunteers, representatives of Virginia Division of Natural Heritage, and others from the community, the trails at Hickory Hollow Natural Area are again open.

In two days of hard work, teams of as many as 9 persons cut and moved over 100 trees which had closed all trails in the wake of Hurricane Isabel. One trail, the Green Trail, was so snarled with downed trees that a section had to be rerouted.

“This was a remarkable effort of clean up. Our gratitude goes to all those who participated to quickly reopen the area to the public,” stated Hickory Hollow Committee Chairman, Tom Gregory.
