Bluebirds - A Success Story

In 1975 NNAS initiated the �Bring Bluebirds Back to Virginia� campaign.  That year we built 50 bluebird houses and sold them for $3 each.

For the last 10 years, we have built an average of 1,000  boxes a year.  That�s more than 10,000 homes for our bluebird friends. 

Recently NNAS installed 14 bluebird boxes along the King Carter Golf Course/Hills Quarter Trail.  Despite a late start placing some of the boxes and the   hijacking of others by sparrows, 66 birds were  fledged the first year!  What an exciting and gratifying success.
