Bluebird Boxes and Society

This is a call to all those interested in building bluebird boxes. All are welcome at Al Polard’s shop, the same place as last year, no experience necessary. Directions will be provided, both to Al Polard’s as well as for bluebird box building. The time is December 10th through the 15th. Please call Fred Witschey (804-435-9090) or Ron Feldman (804-580-8987). All tools, and materials will be provided. You will be asked to provide only your labor for our avian friends.

Dear NNAS members,
the Virginia Bluebird Society invites you to send your bluebird box data each year to them to be counted into the bbs fledged in the state. If you hand out 1,000 boxes a year you must have lots of EABLs there on the Neck!

VBS Data is compiled by Charlie Chambers and the forms for sending it into him can be found at: www.virginiabluebirds.org. The forms are easy to fill out and can be printed out and copied.

VBS has one County coordinator in Northhampton County, up in Lottsburg, Jeff Newsome, who can help with the data collection, and another member, also in Lottsburg, Linda Adams who is also sending in data. We would like more coverage of the Northern Neck and so I come to you for that.

Let us know if you would be interested. See our web page for the data of past years and do join us in the effort to count bb and other cavity nesters' fledges each year.

Sincerely yours,
Barbara Chambers, Coordinator of coordinators! VBS
